We’ve all heard the saying, the “truth will set you free”.  But what does that really mean in the context of who you are as a leader.  We’ll I’ll offer you this.  As a leader, your responsibility is to govern yourself according to the Word of God which is the “truth”.  Knowing and living by the truth frees you from unjust persecution, it frees you from shadows of impropriety, and it frees you from living in fear of the truth.

Proverbs 23:23 encourages us to “buy truth” and do not sell it.”  In other words, you have to be willing to part with anything in order to get the truth.  And once you get the truth, do not part from it for pleasure, honor, riches, or anything else in the world.  Put another way, don’t sacrifice the truth for promotion, don’t sacrifice the truth for recognition, don’t sacrifice the truth because of fear of retribution, don’t sacrifice the truth for fear of not being liked, and most importantly, don’t sacrifice the truth for your integrity.  Because, eventually, the truth will be made known.  And as a leader belonging to God, when the truth finally prevails, you want to be found in one place – the “right” side of truth. – SHALOM
